Starting Balances
Starting Bank and Cash Account Balances
Beginning bank account balances are entered using the Bank and Cash Accounts Tab. If you're not tracking pending transactions enter the book balances from your prior accounting records. This balance should include any pending transactions.
You have two options:
- Enter the starting balances when you enable the Bank and Cash Accounts Tab
- Enter starting balances for all accounts later - I prefer this option
The accounts have been enabled; but, the balances have not been entered.
For those wanting to enter all their starting balances later:
Select the Bank and Cash Accounts Tab
The Bank and Cash Accounts Screen Appears
Click the Edit Button for the Bank Account
The Bank Entry Form is displayed
Enter the Starting Balance - in our example $1000
Click Update
The Bank and Cash Accounts Screen is displayed showing a balance of 1,000
